I'm good at following orders

I'm currently in Victoria, headed to Vancouver for a day or two over the weekend.
Very full days so far, tattoo today!
I'm exhausted, but what else is new?
Arrived here just in time for BC's 150th birthday party, so hey, big crowds and a free concert.
Will post more coherently later.

The Vision

I've been ignoring the blog. Again.
A change in jobs. A potential holiday, maybe. Hopefully Australia but we'll see how things go. I'm attempting to get into better shape, but again, we'll see how it goes.
Planning another tattoo. I just need someone to work on a font-type thing for me.
Lyrics down my side, that is what it shall be.
Life goes on.

Deconstructed

Something came over. A small glimpse down the long road to self dectruction. Sadly I enjoyed it. Actually hoped for more.
7am came, the sun rose, and the ride was over.
sleep, who needs it?

long road to ruin

I keep myself busy. I keep myself tired. If I'm not working, I'm sleeping, or at least in a state close to sleep. Some time in between all that I find to drink.
Yet somehow, amidst all that I find time to think about you. Or rather, it finds me. Kind of sick of it to be honest. Maybe it's the closure I need. Not sure, but I'm edging myself closer to finding out. I don't know what to do or say once I get there, but this is something I feel I may need to do, for sanity's sake.

of the spotless mind

There was someone significant once, very significant.
There was a break, a promise made.
A broken promise.
The memory faded. Never completely.
But still faded.
Contact.
Oh so slight contact.
The memories returned.
I wish I could forget them now. Sometimes.
I think.

so..

Blue Rodeo was tremendous, better than I expected.
It was mellow, no full drum kit, no electric guitars, just a black curtain behind them and acoustics mostly.
They opened with 5 days in May, and moved through some of their quieter tunes, and eventually most of the band left the stage, and Melissa McClelland came out and sang a duet, and then the three of them sang an acapella song.
An electric guitar came out, the curtain dropped and they started rocking out. As much as a bunch of old fogeys can rock out, anyways.
Towards the end of their set, a couple ladies got out of their seats, walked up to the stage and danced along. A security guy came over and asked them to sit down, I assume, instead one of them put her arm around him and kept dancing. After that, the band invited everyone to join the four ladies in front of the stage.
On to the encore, which began with Hasn't Hit Me Yet, and the crowd sang the first verse + chorus, and it was beautiful. It closed with the opening acts (Cuff the Duke, Luke Doucet + Melissa) to join in on Lost Together.
Fairly brief overview, but all in all a great show, even though I missed the opening acts due to transportation problems.

May 29 Matthew Good (w/ band) @ Massey Hall

I am hoping to get away again this summer. Not sure where, but I'm feeling like I'm going to kinda need it.
