Once upon a time
Time for a little humiliation, because I'm good at it.
Months ago, probably October, this girl came into work to fix the ice machine. My boss, who seems to have it in for me in a non mean spirited way, kept saying how she was cute and I should go talk to her. I declined, seeing as how both she and I were, you know, working.
He then went on to mention to several of my coworkers how me and this girl should get together, and how I should go and chat her up. This lead to a period of mild teasing until the whole thing with my female coworker started up. Which of course lead to even more teasing, but whatever.
Fast forward to this past Monday. Girl comes in to do some repairs again. I didn't even recognize her, but of course my boss starts with same talk again. This time however, I figure that I'm due for a change. I offer her some water and make some idle chitchat.
She declines the water but then offers me a ride home. I, of course, accept, and several minutes of small talk later I'm dropped off at home.
Instantly I realize that I didn't ask if she had a boyfriend or for her number or anything. Woops.
One of my coworkers comes up with the idea of calling her work, and saying that she had left some tools behind, giving my number for her to call. Against my better judgement, letting my pride get the best of me (I'm no chicken!), I did just that.
Thursday night I get a call from one of my managers asking if I know anything about some tools left behind. Yes, she showed up without a phonecall at work while I wasn't there. I tell him to put her on the phone and continue to explain the entire situation to her. Aaaaaaaand she has a boyfriend, of several years, since highschool. She said I should've been there. Thanks?
I apologize profusely and hang up the phone.
I thought I was off the hook, but no, my boss was sitting there the entire time. Apparently she was beet red, with a smile on her face, and was legitimately flattered by the entire thing. Which I suppose is a good thing. Still though. Let the teasing commence.
Anyways, the partying that was supposed to happen last weekend will be happening this weekend instead, and I am quite looking forward to it. I actually have a full 2 days off (hopefully), so it shall be good times indeed.
Ok bye now.
